The day 11 September (Universal Brotherhood Day) is remarkable for the great Chicago Speech of Swami Vivekananda in the World Parliament of Religion. Vidyalaya paid tribute to that momentous event on 11th September, 2019. The program began with floral tribute to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade by respected Principal and Vice principal of the Vidyalaya and at the same time mangalacharan was sung. The presence of two dignitaries, Chief Guest Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee, CGM NEEPCO and Sri Mohan Dihingia,GM NEEPCO graced the event. A group of students from class ix presented a beautiful song. To make the day successful Vidyalaya organized a quiz competition among five schools of Umrangso. The schools which extended their helping hand to make the event fruitful are Saraswati Vidyamandir, Himalayan Academy, Garampani High School and Sacred Heart High School. The quiz competition was conducted on the topics: Swami Vivekananda, Rock Memorial, Eknathji Ranade etc. All the participant schools showed great enthusiasm and talent during quiz competition but Sacred Heart School performed amazingly and stood in the first position out of the five schools. Hence the other schools which really gave a tough fight to Sacred Heart school are  Royal Academy, stood 2nd, Saraswati Vidyamandir stood 3rd, Garampani High school, also 3rd. Hrimso Longmailai, a student of class v and Hritika Sharmah, a student of class vi delivered speech on that special day and really mesmerized the crowd. Chief guest Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee spoke a few words on the importance of the day. Principal of the Vidyalaya threw some light on the significance of the day. A few prizes were given away  on that day for those students who showed excellence in drawing competition on the occasion of World environment day(5th June 2019) and the schools which excelled on the quiz competition on the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day(11th  September 2019).
