On 9th May Vidyalaya
observed Rabindra Jayanti in a befitting way. The program started with
mangalacharan along with offering flowers on the portraits of Bharatmata,
Swamiji and Rabindranath Tagore. A group of students from class XI sang a
melodious song that mesmerized all. Sri Pannalal Datta (a teacher) from
Secondary Block and Smt Madhuchanda Roy Choudhury (a teacher) from Primary
Block delivered speech. Both the teachers highlighted few important aspect of
Tagore’s life such as – brief story about his childhood days, contribution
towards society, a great patriot, a herculean figure in the domain of
literature, a great artist etc. There were two solo dance performed by the
students of classes III and VI. Kr Abhimunya Roy Choudhury , a student of class
VI, recited a poem on this special occasion. The programme ended with shantipath.
