Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan


Independence Day celebration at Vidyalaya
Vidyalaya celebrated 73rd Independence Day with full of enthusiasm. The celebration began by hoisting the flag by the Vice Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Arundoy Roy Choudhury accompanied by National anthem. The event reached to its height with a very brief but informative speech delivered by Vice-Principal. A group of students from class xii sang a beautiful patriotic song on this occasion. Su Saemi Langthasa, a student from class XI Science delivered a short speech and made the event fruitful. A total no. of 500 people (student, teacher, parents) was present on that day.

Independence Day celebration at KHEP, NEEPCO Office
The second part of the program was celebrated in the NEEPCO office. This part was graced with the presence of CMD (KHEP, NEEPCO, Umrangso) along with HOP, KHEP (NEEPCO), various other officials of  NEEPCO, all the teachers and students of the Vidyalaya. It began with flag hoisting by CMD followed by National Anthem. In this occasion GM wished all to a Very Happy Independence Day and delivered a thanks giving speech for CMD and all present over there. The Program reached to its height of success with the beautiful presentation of two dance forms by the students of the Vidyalaya. There was a March Past, Yoga Pyramid display, Solo Dance presentation by the students. A few entertaining events were conducted like balloon bursting, toffee collection etc.
Celebration of Raksha Bandhan
Simultaneously Vidyalaya celebrated Raksha Bandhan on 15th August. All the sisters tied Rakhi in the hands of the brothers in the Vidyalaya premises. On this occasion sweets were distributed among the students, teachers and parents. Vidyalaya also celebrated Rakhi Purnima in NEEPCO office by tying Rakhi in the hands of different NEEPCO officials. A selected number of students along with five teachers went to Assam Rifle Cantonment to celebrate Rakhi Purnima.
A group of students together with four teachers went to GPSA field, Umrangso for the March past as well as to take part in different events like Running race, Kabbadi, Volleyball and Tug of War organized by Dima Hasao Students Union. It was a matter of pleasure for the VKV family that our students shone there in different fields like-
(i)    200 meter running race for senior girls; first position secured by Sikha Borah and runners up Sangeeta Sangma.
(ii)    200 meter running race for seniors’ boys; first position secured by Prantik Boruah
(iii)  100 meter running race for junior boys; 2nd position secured by Nikhil Barman and 3rd position by Pranesh Hasnu.
(iv)  In Kabbadi, our school secured 2nd position.
