Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti were
celebrated in the Vidyalaya with the floral tribute in the portrait of Gandhiji
and Shastriji by the principal of the Vidyalaya at the same time
mangalacharan was chanted on 2nd October, 2019. A beautiful song ‘Raghupati
Raghav Raja Ram' was presented by a group of students from class V with the
help of Smt Mrinali Borthakur (Music
Teacher). The informative as well as inspiring speech by Sri Aswini koiri, a
teacher of the Vidyalaya mesmerized the crowd. He spoke about Gandhi's incessant
struggle to drive away the British from India like Krishna fought against
Kangsha. He also spoke about the life history of Lal Bahadur Shastri. In
his speech he informed Shastriji's journey as cabinet minister, as a Prime Minister
(though for a short time), handling clash against Pakistan and Chaina during
this time etc.
Patriotic Song plays a vital role in any
occasion to create the atmosphere of patriotism. Hence the song `Hum hain bande
Bharat k...` perfomed by class V students really brought the patriotic
feeling among the crowd. On these two special occasions Principal
of the Vidyalaya welcomed three officials (including one Executive
Officer) of the Umrangso Town Committee. He also spoke about a few historical
movements like ‘Non cooperation movement’, ‘Civil disobedience’, ‘Quit India
movement’ etc. led by Gandhiji. He threw some light on 'Swaccha Bharat ..Sustha
Bharat’, importance of cleanliness. One of the most important part of his
speech is the 'oath taking' by one and all present there. The oath was
about teaching others by the students those who are not able to read and write.
A patriotic song was performed thereby by
class VI students guided by Smt Suma Das.
A team from Umrangso Town committee
presented a PPT on 'Solid Waste Management' in view to fullfil the
mission of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ which was initiated by government of India from
Rajghat New Delhi on 2nd October, 2014.
Lastly with the vote of thanks by Primary
in charge Sri R. K. Tiwary the programme ended.
