Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Umrangso: Annual Sports Meet

VKV Umrangso organised its annual sports meet in spite of unfavourable weather. It began on 6th Jan, 2020 in presence of dignitaries – respected Sanjib Mishra (GM and HR Head, Dalmia cement, Umrangso), Md. Yousuf Alamgir (HR Plant Head, Dalmia cement, Umrangso), Dr. Ambika Hojai Karikhapsa (CMO Neepco, Umrangso) and Ottam Karikhapsa (Accounts Officer, Neepco, Umrangso). We began the much awaiting programme by invocation of Mangalacharan and lightening of lamp together with offering flowers at the portrait of Swamij. It was followed by welcome speech by Principal Sir. In his speech Sir highlighted the importance of games and sports, moral education and discipline in students' carrier and wished all round development of the students. He also spoke about FIT India movement on the occasion and declared the sports meet open. The sports events in various categories continued till 7th Jan, 2020 where the students showed their talents in those events.

On the concluding day, i.e. 8th Jan, 2020, dignitaries from Neepco as well as Dalmia cement graced the occasion. Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee (HOP Neepco) was given guard of honour as he arrived on the ground. The chief guest Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee Sir, guest of honour Sri Randeep Changkakoti (DGM, Neepco) and other guests - Sanjib Mishra (GM and HR Head, Dalmia cement, Umrangso), Md. Yousuf Alamgir (HR Plant Head, Dalmia cement, Umrangso),Satbir Singh (Assam Rifle, Umrangso) and Y.N. Dubey (Assam Rifle, Umrangso) were felicitated with phulam gamosa. They observed the march past by the four houses and cultural events like mass drill, band drill, etc. The prizez were given by the respected guests, Principal Sir and Vice Principal Sir. Both Sri Bhattacharjee as well as Sri Mishra Sir praised our students for their Zeal and enthusiasm in games and sports. Finally the retreat of the flag of the sports meet was done by Sri Sanjib Mishra Sir. Sri Arunodaya Sir, Vice Principal of our Vidyalaya thanked one and all for the success of the programme.
