KALPATARU DIVAS:

Vidyalaya observed Kalpataru Divas in the morning assembly in brief so as to blessed by Paramahansadev and fulfill our wishes. The programme began with offering flowers at the portraits of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Maa Sharada, Bharatmata and Swamiji by Principal, Sri Digesh Chandra Nath and Vice Principal, Prahlad Gogoi Sir. There was a song presentation by a group of students. A.C. Roy (TGT Eng) delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the occasion. He narrated the significance of the fruitful tree, fulfilment of wishes of the disciples on this occasion and our efforts to move forward forgetting our past errors.

 

Inter-School Quiz Competition:

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Umrangso organised an Inter-school Quiz Competition for the students of nearby schools and colleges on aftermath of Samartha Bharat Parva on 03/01/25 in J B Hagjer Senior Secondary School. Students from Five schools took part in the competition where Quiz master Sri Debdulal Chowdhry (PGT-JBH) set questions on Swami Vivekananda, Mananeya Eknathji Ranade and VKrm.

RABHAT PHERI - ON VIVEKANANDA JAYANTI:

 

On the eve of Vivekananda Jayanti VKV Umrangso organised Prabhat Pheri, a procession where students, teachers, parents, well-wishers and gayan bayan from NeepcoNaamghar took part in it. The procession started from Kali Mandap where everyone in colourful traditional attire stood in proper queue and marched on chanting slogans eulogizing Swamiji. Naam kirtan by gayan-bayan, bhajans by students’ slogans by all of us and band display added fragrance to the occasion. The Prabhat pheri marched to police station and then headed towards Garampani Hospital and concluded at the Kali Mandap itself. While the procession marched on, well-wishers from market area provided water and snacked to all who took part in it.

SARASWATI PUJA:

Vidyalaya celebrated Saraswati Puja in a grand way on 3rd February. It started in the ground of lower block at around 7.00 am in presence of students, teachers and a large number of devotees. All the students offered Pushpanjali at the feet of goddess Saraswati and sought blessings for their bright future. Prasad distribution started at 11.30 pm and it continued to 2.30 pm.  Officials from NEEPCO and all the invitee guests were very pleased at the hospitality shown from our side. There were near about 1700 people to attend the programme. In the evening, the teachers gathered once again to offer Aarti and prayer.

Parent-Teachers Meet:

Vidyalaya conducted Parents-Teachers’ Meeting on 08/02/25 for the classes of BalVatika I, II and III. There was a constructive discussion among the parents and the teachers regarding the New Education Policy. Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath Sir detailed the ABL system and its importance in the present era.

Pariksha Pe Charcha:

Pariksha Pe Charcha, an innovative initiative by the Education Department, Govt. of India was live telecast. School arranged for the telecast in the Computer laboratory of the Vidyalaya so that students of Class X and XII can watch it and get motivated by the insightful words of Honourable Prime Minister of India.

Capacity Building programme:

All the teachers of our Vidyalaya enrolled themselves for offline mode capacity building programme under CBSE which was held on 4/3/2025 in our Vidyalaya. They were also happy to have respected Digesh Chandra Nath (Principal of the Vidyalaya) to be the resource person for the training programme. It was a whole day session where there were presentation, discussion, activity, etc. on the topic learning outcome and pedagogies

.Vidyarambha Ceremony:

Vidyalaya organised Vidyarambha ceremony on 13/03/2025 for classes Balvatika I and Balvatika II for the session 2025-26.  It began with offering flowers at the portraits of Ramkrishna Paramaabsadev, Sharada Maa, Swami Vivekananda and  Bharatatmata by respected Principal Digesh Chandra Nath and Vice Principal Prahlad Gogoi together with mangalacharana invoked by all the parents, teachers and students present there. Respected Principal welcomed all and spoke about the purpose of the programme. There was a speech by Sri Uttam D. Narnarware  (Incharge of primary block) on the significance of the occasion. The students were encouraged to write OM. They were provided honey along with a gift on the auspicious occasion.

Varsharambha Ceremony:

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Umrangso observed the Varsharambha ceremony to mark the commencement of the academic session 2025-26 on the 22nd day of April 2025 with a clear focus on discipline, academic rigor, and all-round development. The program was initiated by Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath Sir and Vice Principal Sri Prahalad Gogoi Sir by offering floral tribute at the portrait of Swami Vivekananda, Bharat Mata and Vidya Devi Saraswati during the opening assembly. At the same time, students representatives from each section have also paid floral tribute at those portraits to seek their blessings. Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath Sir greeted the students with his motivating words, focussing on the importance of punctuality, regularity, and sincere effort in achieving excellence. Special stress was given on improving and excelling in Spoken English by each and every student of the Vidyalaya. The program concluded with Shanti Mantra.

Teachers conducted subject overviews, distributed learning materials, and outlined classroom expectations. The day progressed smoothly, setting a structured and goal-oriented tone for the rest of the year

Farewell to Sri Atul Chandra Roy (Teacher):

VKV (NEEPCO), Umrangso bid a farewell to Sri Atul Chandra Roy (TGT English) on 28th May 2025 as he had been transferred to VKV (NEC) Boragolai in with the same designation. The program started with the holy sound of Omkara followed by Mangalacharana. All the teachers reminiscent over the glorious years of working with him for the development of the vidyalaya. Vice Principal Sri Prahlad Gogoi sir said that Vidyalaya achieved wonderful result in AISSE examination during the last few years under the guidance of Sri Atul Chandra Roy. Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath expressed his positive view that VKV (NEC) Boragolai will be enriched to get such a well balanced personality. The program came to an end with Shanti Mantra.

Farewell to Sri Sushanta Deka (HOP, NEEPCO):

Vidyalaya paid a tribute to Sri Sushanta Deka (HOP, NEEPCO-Umrangso) on 01/05/2025 through a fare well gathering in the morning assembly when Sri Digesh Chandra Nath, the Prncipal of the Vidyalaya felicitated him along with his Dharma Patni (wife) Smt NIlanjana Devi with PhulamGamucha and a token of love and at the same time wished him a very happy and healthy superannuated life. Vice Principal Sri Prahlad Gogoi made a mention of his cooperative nature of working hand in hand with the school.

Commencement of class XI:

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya started the regular classes for the students of class XI Science and Arts. Though the admission test was conducted in the month of April, formal regular classes were arranged from 3rd May 2025. Total 18 students attended the class of XI Science whereas 32 students chose to attend the classes of Arts stream.

Rabindra Jayanti:

Rabindra Nath Tagore Jayanti (9th May 2025): The 168th Birth anniversary of Kaviguru Rabindra Nath Tagore was observed in both the blocks of the Vidyalaya with flying colours on 9th May (25th Baishakh) 2025. The program was initiated by offering floral tribute at the portrait of Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda and Bharat Mata by respected Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath sir and Primary in charge Sri Uttam D. Naranware sir. Poem recitation, Rabindra Nritya and a group song by the students were the main attraction of the program. At the same time a wonderful speech by Smt. Gitashree Sarma (Teacher) detailing few incidents from the life of Gurudev added some extra flavour to the program.

On the other hand, Vice-Principal Sri Prahlad Gogoi sir initiated the program by offering floral tribute at the portrait of Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda and Bharat Mata. Sri Bibek Pegu, a student of class XII delivered wonderful speech on the great personality as a ‘True Patriot’ while Sri Supriya Deb (Teacher) sir highlighted him as the great ‘Polymath’. A group of students presented a Rabindra Sangeet which added a feather to the program. The promram ended with Santi Mantra.

Drama workshop at Anandalaya, Dibrugarh: A group of teachers attended a three days’ Drama Workshop at Anandalaya, Dibrugarh starting from 10/05/25. This workshop was designed to train the teachers so that they can guide the students to go for the VKSPV level drama competition and showcase their skill in the field of acting.

 

 

 

 

Felicitation Programme: A felicitation programme was arranged by the Vidyalaya to welcome and felicitate Mr. Ashim Jyoti Bordoloi, the newly joined HOP, KHPS, Umrangso. He was felicitated by Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath with a Pulam Gamusa and a token of love.

The school toppers of AISSE and AISSCE, 2025 were felicitated and blessed by him Mr.Ashim Jyoti Bordoloi, HOP, KHPS, Umrangso.

HOP Mr. Ashim Jyoti Bordoloi expressed his gratitude towards the Vidyalaya for being the torch bearer for the people and Umrangso and nearby areas.

Career Counselling Class:

Vidyalaya arranged for a career counselling cum get together for the recent alumni of AISSCE-2025 to encourage and show them a right path in life. The session was conducted by Sri. A. Manitan Singha (PGT-Physics) under the guidance of Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath. Students were happy to learn few new career ideas.

Scientist interacts with students:

Famous scientist and the youngest recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award Dr. Bappi Paul (Assistant Professor, National Institute of Forensic Science and Technology, Gandhi Nagar, Gujrat) visited VKV (NEEPCO), Umrangso on 23/05/2025 and had an interaction with the Students of Class XI and XII. The interaction session started with three Omkara and Mangalacharan. Principal Sri Digesh Chandra Nath Sir felicitated him with a PhulamGamusa and a token of love. Dr. Bappi Paul appraised the Vidyalaya for being the torch bearer for thousands of people in the locality. According to him, marks plays less role in a student’s life than that of determination. Therefore, all the students should fix their goal and prepare accordingly. The interactive and interesting session concluded with Shantimantra.

Director of Central Electrical Authority visits school: Director of Central Electrical Authority Mr. Sumeet Kumar visited Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Umrangso on 19/05/25 and had an interaction session. In his insightful message, he addressed the students to fix a target and peruse the goal with strong determination.
