Vidyalaya celebrated Swami
Vivekananda Jayanti (National Youth Day) to pay tribute to Swamiji who
contributed immensely to our country. It started with lightening of auspicious lamp
and floral tribute by respected principal sir and chief guest of the occasion Sri
Mohan Dihingia sir (DGM, CIVIL, KHEP, NEEPCO). It was followed by welcome
speech by the Principal of the Vidyalaya. He also spoke on Swamiji’s works and
his faith on the youths. In his speech, respected DGM Sri Mohan Dihingia appealed
the teachers to give more stress on moral education. After his speech, Sri
Mohan Dihingia Sir flagged off the procession which took a round around
Umrangso and returned to school at 11:00 am. It was a colourful procession as the students (class wise) wore different traditional dresses of North-Eastern people. There were more than 400 people on
the occasion.
