Universal Brotherhood Day
VKV Umrangso celebrated Universal
Brotherhood Day today (11/09/2017) amidst joy and pride. It was initiated by
floral tribute at the portrait of swami Vivekananda
by honourable chief guest Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee (HOP, KHEP, NEEPCO) and other two guests – Sri
Mohan Dihingiya (DGM, KHEP, NEEPCO) and Sri Rondip Changkakoti (Senior manager,
HR, KHEP, NEEPCO). The Principal of the Vidyalaya Sri P. v. Ramesan delivered his welcome address and highlighted
the significance of the auspicious occasion and Swamiji’s magical endeavour to
open the western eyes to India. There was patriotic song presentation by
students befitting to the occasion. The Chicago address presentation by
students from VKV Umrangso and nine neighbouring schools was the important
highlight of the occasion. Most of those students were able to present it with
perfection. Sri Debotosh Bhattacharjee (HOP, Khep, NEEPCO) and Sri Mohan
Dihingiya (DGM, Khep, NEEPCO) also spoke a few words on the occasion. In his
speech, Sri Mohan Dihingiya mentioned the great works done by Swamiji and his
personal view to find some traits of Swamiji in our honourable Prime Minister.
He urged us to follow Swamiji’s path in uplifting our motherland. Similarly Sri
Debotosh Bhattacharjee felt proud to speak on such grand occasion. He thanked
us all to celebrate such auspicious occasion and thereby enliven that famous
speech delivered by Swamiji at the world convention of religion at Chicago,
America. There were more than 350 people present (including the 25 guests from
nine different schools) on the occasion.
